"Dentists Say..." Vintage 1920s advertisement journal

with advertisement for Mynol Local Anesthetic, "the Most Efficient Produced"

The front cover of this handbound 5" w. x 7" h. blank book features an advertisement for Mynol Local Anesthetic, "the Most Efficient Produced", from a 1920s orthodontic journal called The Dental Cosmos. The back cover also features an excerpt of an article from the same journal.

I found these periodicals from the '20s during a trip to San Francisco last year and the combination of well-designed, dated ads and the smoothness of the paper on which they're printed creates a wonderfully playful and functional surface for these covers.

The pages are made from a smooth Magnani Velata middleweight, 100% acid free paper and the book is bound with waxed black linen thread in a coptic stitch (knotted, open-spine) that allows the book to lie flat when open. The paper has a great weight for lots of writing and the spine stitching is strong.

This journal has a sturdy stitching structure designed to stand up to plenty of use. Made from 100% acid-free archival materials. 80 pages.
