The Wind, The Sun, and The Moon

It’s kind of nonstop around here and, though I’m surrounded by piles of paper, bookcloth, wool, leather, and drying covers, it’s starting to feel just the teensiest bit organized, too!

For the last few weeks, my days have been spent going back and forth between wedding invitation printing and working away on a new batch of albums and journals (that so far I’m deliriously happy with!).

The simultaneous softness and intricacy of these papers is really lovely up close. They’re patterned, but with muted colors never seem too busy. I couldn’t help myself and had to have at least that little peek of green!

I am thoroughly enjoying the new batches of papers and fabrics I’m working with, and I think it might show. It’s nice to finally have a chance to jump back in to a lot of books, after so much letterpress card work over the holidays…although there’s plenty of brand new work on that end coming next week! For now, the combination of leather against a beautifully soft wool/cotton blend that I have in gray/green and camel colors is kind of charming me to no end!

The wool/cotton blend against the leather creates a contrast that not only looks nice (although it’s very subtle and tough to translate to a screen!), but creates a beautiful texture that you really can’t stop running your hands over…

Before I drool anymore over materials I should be busily cutting down, sewing, and pasting up, it’s back to trimming paper and binding! I’ll leave you with Anne Stevenson’s The Wind, The Sun, and The Moon.
