I’m on the lookout for a tabletop letterpress! Many people - including myself and my other half - would argue that it’s doubtful we can cram much more into this apartment, let alone a hunk of metal. I’m ready to find a tabletop press that’s in good shape, though. I’m prepared to spend a couple of months, at least, looking for just the right press at just the right price…hopefully somewhere near us so I don’t end up paying for freight shipping from the west coast or anything like that!

As I’ve done more and more letterpress work, and as I lay out book designs during my commutes each day, it’s become apparent that it would be incredibly useful for me to have my own small press. I’ll always have access to the studio at The Arm for anything larger that needs to be printed (this book coming up, anyone?), but having my own press would provide a degree of flexibility I’m ready for.

I’ll keep you posted on the search as I’m sure it will - like everything else recently - prove to be a wonderful learning process!
