Flying solo – day 1! + 2010 calendars on Decor8!

Today is Charlotte’s and my first day sans Matt, who headed back to work bright and early this morning. I won’t lie, we’ve been dreading the day because we really both want to take care of Charlotte all the time, but we’re making the best of it!

For a first day solo, it’s going awfully well! Charlotte’s been relaxing and napping a little, so I’ve had a chance to catch my own breath, plus have even gotten to pay attention to a little work! I told myself I’d give myself 6 weeks off and if I happened to get any work done during that window, great! So, things are great!

This morning I finished up a custom guestbook that has been waiting patiently for my attention, ever since I started it right before going in to labor 2 1/2 weeks ago.

10″ x 10″ Coptic stitch album/guestbook with cranberry & cream Italian paper covers, stitching in cranberry-colored waxed linen thread, and cream satin ribbon, to close.

It was also sooo nice to see the 2010 hanging letterpress calendar included in Holly’s calendar round-up this morning on Decor8! Thanks for the mention!

Those 2010 calendars are available now for pre-order in my Etsy shop – and they’ll ship toward the end of this month – enjoy!

I have also been enjoying listening to KD Lang’s Hymns from the 49th Parallel, an amazing birthday present I got from my parents last month and just now got around to opening and putting in to iTunes. It’s almost all covers – Neil Young, Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell, etc. – and it’s fan-tas-tic. Very October-friendly, if I might say so.

It’s a beautiful, sunny day here in Brooklyn – after a string of awfully dreary, cold, and wet weather. If patterns continue today the way they have been, we’ll get to the bank in a few minutes – talk about exciting! Everything’s a little variable right now, so we’ll see how it goes!
