So…it turns out being wayyyyy pregnant can take it out of you when you least expect it! Actually, I already knew that, but it does mean that (between naps and moving a lot slower than usual) I’m taking advantage of any and all energetic moments to finish up a couple of big things, including getting this new collection of invites ready to show off to you, printing 2010 calendars, and [gasp] finishing up some new holiday cards!
After a whole lotta printing – including figuring out a great way to print on my own press while sitting down! – the collection of invitations using chiyogami papers are all printed! Now, I’m just photographing and assembling everything. I’ve planned to make sample packages available with sets of hard copy invitations, and those are what I’ve been putting together today.
As with nearly everything made by hand, letterpress invitations are just better in person, no matter how great your photos. There is a tactile quality and impression that is tough to translate in a digital image, not to mention the 100% cotton paper I print on, and the richly patterned chiyogami papers that wrap each of the invitations in this collection.

Each set of samples will include at least one full set of invitations, as well as paper and ink samples of the chiyogami papers, the cotton stock, and the printed inks themselves.
These are just a few photos to whet your appetite – enjoy! There are a few more up on Flickr, as well, if you’d like to keep tabs on progress. We’ll be getting full sets of photos and pricing information up on our website this weekend, if all goes according to plan, and sample packages will be available through our site, as well as through Etsy.
This Friday…printing the interior panels of 2010 letterpress accordion fold calendars!
