Enough work already!

One of my new, bright green dragonflies

It’s about time for some relaxin’ around here. This week has been kind of nonstop and Matt finally has a day off, so today we’ve been out and about, hoping the rain will stop threatening but being generally unsatisfied with the grey clouds that keep pushing their way over us. So far, no storms…but it’s early.

The only remedy I can think of is to make a good dinner and watch another great action movie tonight! For someone who’s never been terribly interested in action movies before, I think our trip to see Star Trek in the theatre a few weeks ago launched me in to some sort of newfound appreciation for the genre…it’s been James Bond and Batman ever since. The only question is, which blockbuster should we watch?

Tomorrow, we’re hoping for Long Beach in the morning and then Sheala’s 6th annual 4th (or is it 5th annual 4th this time?) in the park in the afternoon and, fortunately, tomorrow and Sunday look like they’ll be gorgeous! Enjoy the holiday weekend!

Here’s Ann Struthers’s (a fellow Iowan!) beautiful and thoughtful “Planting the Sand Cherry”.
