You may have noticed that I not only work at home, but I work in our tiny home. Our little apartment is good to us, and I really test the limits of how much it can handle, what with the press in the kitchen, paper hanging on the walls, cartons of 26″ x 40″ paper spilling in to the hallway…but the apartment never seems to mind (neither does Matt, which is even better!).
As things tend to do in a small space, all of my paper and scraps and bookboard and projects at various stages of completion kind of piled up over the winter months and it started to feel like it was time for a change in here. My work table has been in the middle of the living room for a few years and we’ve wanted to figure out a spot closer to the windows for some time now. Yesterday, while Matt was helping our neighbor move to his new place, I tackled a little apartment/workspace rearrangin’…and I think it worked! (Don’t worry, I didn’t have to lift anything heavy, it was just a lot of pushing around!)

Everything cleared out from under my work table (sorry it’s so blurry!); pretty much everything crammed in to the kitchen while I juggled the chair and couch and table around the living room; my work table in place, right by the windows!
Working in a small space is a challenge; I’m not the first to recognize that, I know. Once I’m ready to look at additional space and the necessary (and exciting!) large equipment that will come with that move, I’m sure the way I work will change pretty drastically. For now, this small setup works surprisingly well and allows me to do an awful lot of work…and enjoy it!

The new set up, with my work table by the front windows and the living area in the center of the living room now. The change makes it feel like a new apartment!
Along with cleaning up around here, I’m also clearing out a lot of albums and journals in my Etsy shop – almost everything is on sale, so if you’re in need of a wedding gift, a journal, an album, a guest book, or cards, take a peek!

Hooray for corner offices and clicky photos!
Space is relative, and smaller spaces really force you to figure out what’s important and what can go. Not a bad lesson to practice
It was so great to see you two and the bump! Looking forward to Christmas when that bump is a baby!
