Yes, it’s true, we’ll actually take a break from all this work and take some time to make and eat great food tomorrow, and enjoy the gaggle of a lot of friends and a little bit of family who will descend on our apartment!

Me, prepping last year’s bird‘
Matt and I both love Thanksgiving, and each of the last 3 years that we’ve had it at our place have been wonderful. We’re not in the midwest with our families anymore, so it means even more to have a house full of friends and wonderful food and smells that help make the day as lovely as it’s meant to be. Everyone’s traditions change over the years, and though nothing will ever have quite the same magic it did when we were small, we know how lucky we are to have one day to come together, and to share our new traditions.
So, we’ve got all of our groceries ready to go, including a greenmarket turkey to brine (Matt’s working on it now!), and I need to get cornbread finished for the a-ma-zing Silver Palate recipe for cornbread/sausage/apple stuffing, and then we’re going to finally take it easy for a few minutes before everyone arrives tomorrow.
Though we may not all be in the same place with one another this year, we are looking forward to enjoying the day and the reflection and calm it offers, and I hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving, as well!
xoxo
Maggie
